Egypt’s Premier Center of Excellence for Traffic, Aviation, and Highway Engineering since 1979.
The Transportation Program is the pioneering and oldest specialized program at the Development Research and Technological Planning Center (DRTPC). Our legacy began with a monumental undertaking between 1977 and 1981, where our founding experts collaborated directly with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and USAID to execute the “Urban Transport Planning in Greater Cairo” project—creating the city’s first comprehensive transport database and future traffic forecasting models.
Officially crystallized into a dedicated institutional program in 1990, we have since united the brightest minds from Cairo University to execute over 750 mega-projects and deliver over 450 specialized training courses, shaping the infrastructure of Egypt and the Middle East.
Conducting advanced academic and applied research in mobility and transit.
